MADE WITH LOVE IN OUR ATELIER
Our atelier is a treasury of craftsmanship techniques. Each HORROR VACUI garment is crafted and adorned by hand.
Every member of the atelier is a master of its discipline, capable of almost extinct hand sewing techniques.
Their skills give incomparable lightness to the collections.
HAND-CUT SCALLOP EDGE
Scallop Edge is a characteristic design element of Annas collections. The atelier cut each edge of the fabric by hand with scissor and finishes the seam carefully with fine stitchings along the round shapes.
Smocking is an embroidery technique originally used to gather fabric so that it can stretch. The technique was developed in England and has been practised since the Middle Ages.
Froschgoscherl originally embellish the bodice of a Dirndl which is a traditional Bavarian dress, designed in the 19th century. In our atelier this handcrafted technique is the most ornate element.
HAND-PLEATED FLOWER BLOSSOM
Flower embellishment is the oldest technique to adore garments. Already hundrets of centuries ago garments were elaborately decorated with floral ornaments.
