HANDCRAFTED DETAILS
HAND-CUT SCALLOP EDGE Scallop Edge is a characteristic design element of Annas collections. The atelier cuts each edge of the fabric by hand with scissor and finishes the seam carefully with fine stitchings along the round shapes.
HAND-SMOCKED HONEYCOMB Smocking is an embroidery technique originally used to gather fabric so that it can stretch. The technique was developed in England and has been practised since the Middle Ages.
HAND-PLEATED FROSCHGOSCHERL Froschgoscherl originally embellish the bodice of a Dirndl which is a traditional Bavarian dress, designed in the 19th century. In our atelier this handcrafted technique is the most ornate element.
